MICHAEL T. BLUMENFELD has been a member of Conway, Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, P.C. since 1998, after joining the firm in 1989. Mr. Blumenfeld attended the University of Rhode Island and earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in 1980, majoring in Political Science. Mr. Blumenfeld returned to New York’s tri-state area soon after graduating college and returned to a career in construction as a member of the International Association of Bridge Structural & Ornamental Ironworkers, Local #580. As a fourth generation ironworker, Mr. Blumenfeld worked as a journeyman, shop steward, foreman and site superintendent. Seeking to expand his career, Mr. Blumenfeld enrolled in Pace University School of Law as a part-time student, doing construction work during the daytime and attending law school at night. He received his Juris Doctor in 1988 and was admitted to the bar (New York and Rhode Island) in 1989 and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 1990.

Mr. Blumenfeld is a member of the American and New York State Bar Associations, the Defense Association of New York, the Defense Research Institute, and he is still a member of Local #580. He is co-chairman of Conway Farrell’s Construction Litigation Team.

With his extensive background in construction, Mr. Blumenfeld continues to work in this field by focusing his legal practice in construction and insurance law. He has utilized this background in handling cases involving serious construction accidents, building defects and architectural and engineering malpractice. He is a seasoned trial attorney who regularly takes high exposure cases to verdict.
