Long Island Office

Robert Delmond is a partner at Conway Farrell who joined the firm in 1995. He practices in the firm’s General Liability and Trial Practice division litigating major matters from inception through trial. His primary focus is the defense of various not for profit entities in all aspects of tort litigation with an emphasis on the defense of sexual and physical abuse claims, civil rights violations, pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983, as applicable to children in foster care, wrongful death and serious injuries involving individuals committed to custodial care. Robert is an experienced trial attorney and has litigated a large number of cases to verdict. In addition to his trial experience he has had great success in the mediation of many cases involving serious injury and abuse.

Robert provides general legal counsel to not for profit entities in areas including criminal investigations, employment issues, insurance coverage, contracts and matters related to non-party disclosure. Additionally, he was appointed as legal counsel to the Incorporated Village of Freeport Zoning Board of Appeals from 2007-2009. Robert presently serves as a member of the Planning Board for the Incorporated Village of Freeport and has been appointed by the Mayor to several special committees with a focus on zoning code revisions and municipal re-development projects.

Prior to joining Conway Farrell, Robert served as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York, where he ultimately worked in the felony trial bureau. In 1992, he entered private practice with a Long Island law firm where he represented major insurance carriers in matters involving policy holder fraud, arson and material misrepresentation in first party property damage claims as well as contract disputes and coverage issues.
