HEATHER M. PALMORE joined the law firm of Conway Farrell in 2000. She is a partner in the firm’s Rockville Centre, Long Island office. Ms. Palmore specializes in general insurance law, with an emphasis on Construction/Labor Law, Premises Liability and Trial Practice. She also heads the firm’s Education Law team which represents New York schools as General, Labor, and Special Counsel.
Ms. Palmore currently serves as a State-appointed trustee to the Roosevelt Public Schools, appointed by the New York State Board of Regents. She is also a member of the Class of 2008 for the The Energeia Partnership, Academy for Regional Stewardship at Molloy College. She is also the recepient of the 2008 Good Citizenship of the Year Award for the entire North Atlantic region for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a community service organization.
Ms. Palmore graduated from Cornell University in 1992 where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the school's College of Human Ecology, majoring in Policy Analysis and Consumer Economics and Housing. As an undergraduate, Ms. Palmore attended Yale University Graduate School as a Ford-Mellon Scholar in 1991. At Yale, she studied the reliability of testimony of infant witnesses in the Psychology Department under Dr. Jesse Gellar, Ph.D.
Ms. Palmore has also been featured on "Dateline NBC" regarding studies at Yale University pertaining to Subliminal Preferences and Implicit Association. In 1995, Ms. Palmore graduated Syracuse University Law School with Distinction. She was the Director of Moot Court and represented Syracuse University in several national mock trial competitions. After law school, Ms. Palmore worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York, until 2000. With the District Attorney’s office, Ms. Palmore tried over 40 cases to verdict. Most notably, Ms. Palmore worked in the Felony Trial Bureau, Family Court Bureau, Domestic Violence Unit, Narcotics Bureau and Appeals Bureau during her tenure.
At Conway Farrell, Ms. Palmore has tried numerous cases on assignment by a number of insurance companies including St. Paul Companies, Allstate, Empire Insurance, GAB Robins and AIG. Ms. Palmore is currently a Board Member of the Roosevelt School District. She was admitted to the New York Bar in 1996 and to the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 2002.
