JONATHAN T. UEJIO joined Conway, Farrell in 1988 and has been a member of the firm since 1998. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mr. Uejio attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota where he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics. After working as a cost analyst, Mr. Uejio attended Fordham Law School where he was a member of the Fordham Environmental Law Report. After receiving his Juris Doctor in 1988, Mr. Uejio was admitted to the New York and Federal Bar in 1989 and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1993.
Mr. Uejio specializes in appellate practice, real estate practice and insurance coverage. As head of the firm’s Appellate Practice unit, Mr. Uejio advises the firm’s clients on the intricacies of the appellate process. He has personally handled more than 150 appeals in state and federal courts involving a wide range of issues including insurance coverage, products liability, construction accident liability, and the First Amendment rights of churches. As a member of the firm's Real Estate Group, he represents lenders in a variety of commercial real estate transactions. In the area of insurance law and insurance coverage, Mr. Uejio specializes in insurance policy language interpretation, as well as assisting clients negotiate coverage with their brokers and insurers. Mr. Uejio is also an experienced trial attorney who has taken a number of significant exposure cases to verdict.
Mr. Uejio is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Defense Association of New York.
