SUSAN K. HANLEY is an associate in the firm’s New York litigation department. Ms. Hanley’s practice concentrates on defending Verizon against claims involving premises liability, construction/labor law and motor vehicle litigation. Throughout her legal career, Ms. Hanley has defended hundreds of claims brought against the National Supermarket Association, State Farm insureds, and the City of New York.
Ms. Hanley earned a B.A. in History and Political Science with a minor in Naval Science from Marquette University in 1996, where she also received her commission as a Naval Officer through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corp (N.R.O.T.C) program. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Hanley was a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy where she served aboard USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) and USS Wasp (LHD 1). Throughout her naval career, Ms. Hanley participated in joint military exercises in the South Pacific, Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas, and the Persian Gulf.
Upon completion of her military service, Ms. Hanley earned her law degree from the City University of New York School of Law in 2003, where she served on the editorial board of the New York City Law Review. Ms. Hanley was admitted to practice law in New York in 2006 and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 2008.
