New York’s Labor Law §200, §240 and §241 have been enacted to benefit construction workers who are injured on the job. Conway, Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, for the past 20 years, has had a Construction Site Accident Team to defend owners and contractors. Indemnity and coverage issues in these cases require implementation of an aggressive litigation plan. The team consists of more than 15 attorneys and three paralegals. The attorneys must be familiar, not only with New York Labor Law, but also the Workers’ Compensation Law, contract and insurance law. Five of the attorneys on the team have hands-on experience as construction workers or workers in construction management positions prior to completion of law school.
